FAQ’S

  • How do you wash dreadlocks?

I recommend getting your hair wet no more than two times a week. Washing two to four times a month with a sulfate free shampoo. My favorite brand is ‘Dr. Bronners Castile Soap’. Also make sure to not sleep on a wet head, Dreadlocks can take up to 8 hours to dry.

  • How long does installation take?

Installation depends on how many you get, how long your hair is, how thick your hair is, how thick you want them to be, etc. It can take between 1-12 hours to install dreadlocks. Refer to services page for more info.

  • Should I do anything to them after instillation?

Palm Rolling is the most important thing to keep up with in the first 6-8 months. It consists of squeezes the dreadlock in between your hands, rubbing back and forth all the way down your dreadlock. It’s important to do this to every single one. Also making sure that you are pulling at the roots to apart to prevent entanglement.

  • How long does maintenance take?

First maintenance is always the longest and can last up to five hours if you have a full head. Typically though it takes 1-4 hours.

  • How often should I get maintenance?

I suggest maintenance every 3-6 months.

  • How much does it cost?

My in shop hourly rate is $50/HR across the board. Custom extension sets are prices a little different though, so please refer to that page for price breakdowns.

Yes, please refer to my Services page!

Absolutely, I just recommend rinsing your hair with tap water if you have been in a chlorine pool. Salt water will actual help them tighten and mature! So if you’re by an ocean, LUCKY YOU!!!

  • What is the difference between permanent and temporary dreadlocks?

Permanent used the crochet method for extensions to stay attached for years. Temporary are tied/braided in and only last up to a couple months.

  • What if I want to take my dreadlocks out?

You can shave them, cut them or brush them! I have brushed dreadlocks out and it is very successful. Takes a long time but very possible!
